The complete diary - 1959-60

The Hungarian edition of Sándor Márai's diaries so far is far from complete - the volumes were compiled either by the writer himself or by the publisher, sometimes omitting more personal or politically "embarrassing" notes. However, the series that was left out of the diary is also a selection, so there is no full diary issue. Helikon Publishing intends to close this gap by publishing a new series of complete journals with notes, indexes of places and names, which includes all the records that have been published so far, as well as a number of recently retrieved legacy records. The large-scale enterprise will undoubtedly contribute to the fullest possible understanding of Sándor Márai, the writer and the man.
